The ‘logo’ of BSDMA was developed through a competition organised between the students of Art and Crafts College of Patna University. Over fifty students took part in this competition. The ‘logo’ designed by Mr. Gautam Kumar, a student of the College, was selected to become the logo of the Authority. The panel of judges for this competition included Shri Anil Kumar Sinha, IAS (Retd.), former Vice Chairman, BSDMA; Shri Atul Aditya Pandey, Principal, Art and Crafts College, Patna and Mr. Amitabh Pandey from Unicef. The logo of BSDMA depicts readiness and willing ness of the Government with a helping hand to protect and help disaster affected community.
