A career police officer, joined the authority after superannuation as DG of Police Home Guards and Fire Services, Bihar. Since then engaged in building resilience of government and non government disaster management responders working in villages and urban centers. Prominent are Panchayati Raj Institution (PRI)representatives, Jeevika didis, Community volunteers, Masons, teachers and students of government and private schools for whole state of Bihar covering over 74K schools and 2 million students, etc. In addition, decision making authorities, who are also involved in prevention,mitigation, response and recovery,that is Bihar Civil Service, Bihar Police Service, Circle officers, etc.
Earlier he had the opportunity to work in Department of Disaster Management, Government of Bihar on different occasions between 2008 and 2018 when given responsibility as additional charge. Here he was involved in management of serious disasters specifically Kosi disaster 2008 and Bihar flood 2017. As a knowledge management expert, he has had long association with Bihar Institute of Public Administration & Rural Development (BIPARD) as Head of Centre for Disaster Management and has been contributing in the field of disaster management through association with national institutions including National Institute of Disaster Management, National Disaster Management Authority, Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration, Indian Institute of Public Administration, Delhi, Yashwantrao Chavan Academy of Development Administration, Pune, etc.
New initiatives include ,mainstream disaster management for differently abled creation of Mock Drill teams in districts, efforts to introduce disaster management as a subject of study in universities of Bihar and development of Bihar State Disaster Resource Network.
Kaushal Kishore Mishra: A founding member of Tata AIG,
A founding member of Tata AIG, who has spent almost three decades in the insurance sector beginning with General Insurance Company and subsequently joining United India Insurance. Shri Mishra has spent over 36 years in the insurance industry actively engaged in the industry, with experience in all aspects of the General Insurance market place. He has worked an important role as the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Tata AIG General Insurance Company. His experience during the evolution of General Insurance in India and in the subsequent growth of private general insurers has been recognized as an asset to Tata AIG. He joined AIG as Vice President in the year2000 and subsequently retired as Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer of Tata AIG General Insurance Co. Ltd.He was also closely associated with the General Insurance Council and the Regulator IRDA as veteran of the Industry. He has been a visiting faculty in various Institutes in India connected with Insurance and Risk management.
Shri Narendra Kumar Singh :Shri Narendra Kumar Singh holds a B-Tech degree from Patna Engineering College, Patna. He began his career as a Electrical Engineer and also taught at technical institutes in the state. In the 1970s, he left his technical profession to actively participate in the Jay Prakash movement. Subsequently, he dedicated his life to social activism in the flood-prone areas of Kosi and Kamla in North Bihar.
In the 1990s, he became a member of the 'Yatri Seva Samiti' of Indian Railways, where he advocated for rail and passenger safety and addressed issues related to crowd management, water, and sanitation hygiene. Additionally, he served as Director of the Bihar State Warehousing Corporation, where he championed the safe storage of agricultural produce to ensure food security in the drought and flood-prone areas of Bihar.
With his extensive grassroots experience, Shri Narendra Kumar Singh is a valuable asset for addressing various disaster-related issues in the state of Bihar.
Shri Prakash Kumar: Member,Bihar State Disaster Management Authority.
Shri.Prakash Kumar joined State Bank of India in 1981. He served SBI for 35 year sand retired as Deputy Manager in 2016. He organized many social programs for rural people in villages of Patna and Danapur districts . Active coordination with officials for organizing health check-up courtesy of SBI, rural literacy program, eye check-up camp, distribution of books and copies among rural poor and organizing blood donation camp, engaged in providing free education to rural people.
Coordinating with various departments to educate rural people to provide better information about agriculture, fisheries,horticulture etc. Promoting tree plantation to save endangered environment and make our life beautiful. He believes that people should be encouraged to celebrate birthday by planting at least two saplings. Shri Prakash Kumar has been deeply involved in various social services. Which also includes the most backward communities.
